Event: Help Shape a New Credit Union Leadership & Transformation Programme

The Credit Union Foundation is exploring the development of a new Credit Union Leadership & Transformation Programme and is inviting credit unions to help shape its future direction.

For many years, credit unions have highlighted the need for a dedicated programme that supports professionals to develop the leadership, innovation and transformation skills needed to navigate an increasingly complex and fast-changing environment. In response, the Foundation has begun early conversations with specialist delivery partner Estu to explore a programme tailored to the needs of the sector, with a focus on innovation, service design, transformation and organisational improvement, helping participants develop practical solutions to real-world challenges.

The proposed initiative is intended to support current and future leaders in building the capabilities required to drive organisational change, improve services, foster innovation and strengthen long-term sustainability within their credit unions. The Foundation is exploring a model that would provide participants with a degree-level qualification while directly supporting their credit union’s own transformation and change projects at a time of significant opportunity for the sector.

The training will be funded through the Apprenticeship Levy, helping to make participation accessible to credit unions and their staff.

As development work continues, the Foundation is keen to hear directly from credit unions to ensure the programme reflects the challenges, opportunities and ambitions of the sector.

Join the Introductory Webinar

To learn more about the emerging plans and contribute to the programme’s development, we strongly encourage credit unions to attend an introductory webinar on Monday 6th July at 9:00am.

The session will provide an overview of the thinking behind the initiative, explore the potential opportunities it could offer credit unions and provide attendees with the opportunity to share feedback, ask questions and help shape the programme as it develops.

This is an excellent opportunity for chief executives, senior leaders, aspiring leaders and anyone with an interest in workforce development to contribute to a programme that could help support the future leadership and transformation ambitions of the credit union movement.
